Spice Drug K2 - The Spice Drug K2 is now banned nationwide according to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The K2 Spice Drug ban was proposed in November 2010 amid increasing reports of seizures and hallucinations associated with the counterfeit pot. According to the DEA the Spice drug ban was necessary to prevent an imminent threat to public health and safety. Not only has the Spice drug K2 been banned, but also the five chemicals used to make it.
K2 the Spice drug was sold openly in head shops and online as incense. It was unregulated in the USA because it was sold in packages that stated it was not for human consumption. Little is known about the long-term effects of the fake pot, also known as Spice Drug K2, Demon, Genie, Zohai and a host of other names.
The Spice Drug K2 was developed in a lab at Clemson University by John Huffman. Its active ingredients are synthetic cannabinoids, chemicals that imitate the effects of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. Huffman said it was never intended for people, just fabricated for research.
