Zahra Baker Case Update – In an update to the Zahra Baker case today the stepmother of the disabled North Carolina girl was indicted for murder in the little girl’s death.
In the Baker case update by police, Elisa Baker, the girl’s stepmother was charged with second-degree murder. Elisa Baker had previously been charged with obstruction of justice in the crime.
The 10-year-old was reported missing in October, and police later found her remains in different locations in western North Carolina. Cell phone records place the stepmother at those sites. In addition, police unsealed a search warrant that said Elisa Baker led them to the places where they found Zahra’s remains. She claimed that her husband, Adam Baker took part in the killing. Police investigations have found that to be untrue.
